The Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) has suspended the P1.5 billion Ncojane Water Supply tender. This decision follows the initiation of an investigation into alleged abuse of office and forgery surrounding the significant government contract.

Tender Under Scrutiny

The Ncojane Water Supply tender, valued at P1.5 billion (approximately $110 million USD), is now subject to intense scrutiny by the DCEC. Authorities are examining claims of irregularities that led to the tender’s suspension.

Contractor Challenges Secrecy

One of the implicated parties, Tawana JV, has reportedly expressed concerns regarding the confidentiality of the ongoing probe. The company is understood to be challenging the lack of transparency surrounding the DCEC’s investigation into the tender process.
