NexMetals Secures Major Investment to Revitalize Botswana Nickel Mines
NexMetals Mining Corp has successfully closed an oversubscribed equity raise, bringing in a new U.S. investor and signaling a significant step towards recommissioning the BCL Limited mines in Botswana. The company secured C$80 million (approximately P796 million), strengthening its financial position and strategic objectives in the region.
Advancing the BCL Mine Project
This capital injection is set to facilitate NexMetals’ plans to acquire and revive the Selebi and Selkirk mines. These mines, which were part of BCL Limited, have been dormant for nearly a decade since BCL’s collapse. The new funding underscores investor confidence in the project’s potential and NexMetals’ strategy for nickel production in Botswana.
Strategic Focus on Nickel Production
NexMetals’ intensified focus on its Botswana nickel strategy highlights the growing global demand for the metal. The revival of these mines could represent a substantial boost to the local economy and Botswana’s position in the global nickel market. The move follows extensive efforts to rebuild and modernize the mining operations.
